Tesla Gullwing
This is NOT a modified car from the past years, built on electrical components. This is NOT a modified car on Tesla components either (with outdated batteries, randomly scattered throughout the car body, which steal space in the car, making it absolutely useless to convert a combustion engine vehicle into electric).
We used 99% of Tesla car technology. The best technology ever used by mankind to build a car. Tesla is no doubt the most efficient and optimized car in the world.
The most important part
The most important part of the project took place – marrying the body and chassis together. The body laid smoothly along the wheel axles. But, as it always happens with unique projects, a big unexpected problem took place. And it took us almost 2 weeks to solve. The task was to transfer the charger unit. The charger unit is now placed behind the seatbacks. In fact, moving the charger unit to another part of the car body is the biggest technical change that we made to the model 3. And now the seats fit perfectly. Both of these seats are original tesla seats. They will move the same way as seats in any model 3. All the sensors are in the same place, and the car will definitely understand when you are in or out, and from this, it will be turned on or off without using any buttons.
Steering
The steering column and pedal assembly were moved too and moved significantly forward.
Naturally, we changed the location of the screen, so it is more convenient to use, given the lower fit. And now the screen layout is very similar to the layout in plaid, x and s models. We do not even plan to install mirrors. Although they might be installed for the sake of design in the future. But in fact, we don’t really need them, because we installed cameras. and now, when you change lane, you can clearly see the entire left or right side, you don’t have to look in the mirror. And even if you missed something, the car will warn you. And when we install the rest of the cameras, the car will already be able to drive independently both in city or on highway.
99% of Tesla car technology
So, here we used 99% of Tesla car technology. The best technology ever used by mankind to build a car. Tesla is no doubt the most efficient and optimized car in the world. Therefore, using the Tesla platform, we will immediately discard all questions regarding dynamics, range and innovation. With this body form factor, no other electric vehicle will have a bigger range. And you already know everything about Tesla acceleration. The body has way lower clearance than the standard tesla body. So,therefore the charger unit is now placed behind the seatbacks. In fact, moving the charger unit to another part of the car body is the biggest technical change that we made to the model 3. And now the seats fit perfectly. By the way, both of these seats are original tesla seats. They will move the same way with the help of the buttons as the factory seats on any model 3. The only thing, we cut them a little, and made them shorter for the sake of the design. This is a neo-retro design and the big thick model 3 seats do not quite align with the main idea. But most important is that all the sensors are in the same place, and the car will definitely understand when you are in or out, and from this, it will be turned on or off without using any buttons. This is one of Tesla’s most convenient ideas that, I believe, will soon be used in every car.
Quality results with us
And when you sit so low behind the wheel and so close to the rear axle, it’s hard to describe your feelings. But there is an exact understanding that this is a high quality electric vehicle. There are no weird pump noises, no other noises of a self-made cooling system, no terrible sounds of a custom suspension or, even worse, a native suspension that wasn’t designed for the new weight of the car. As you can see, using Tesla platform, you can make a classic electric car. But it is impossible to convert a classic car into a good everyday electric vehicle.
